The same route every commission takes. You decide at each stage, and nothing moves forward until you say so.

    Choose your gemstone

    Browse the collection or tell us what you are looking for. We send photos and video of the stones that fit your brief, in daylight.

  2. 02

    Tell us your idea

    Share sketches, photos or a description. A piece you saw and liked works just as well as a drawing.

  3. 03

    Design together

    Our designers turn the brief into a CAD drawing. You see the piece from every angle and change it until it is right.

  4. 04

    Approve the quote

    We price the metal, the side stones and the work. The quote is itemised and nothing is added later.

  5. 05

    Wear it

    We set and polish the piece, photograph it and ship it worldwide, insured.

From file to finger

How a ring
actually gets made.

Three stages of one commission, in the order they happen.

Stage 01

The drawing

Nothing is cast until you approve the file. The CAD fixes the ring size, the seat the centre stone sits in, the height of the gallery and the position of every small diamond.

The notes beside the drawing are the build sheet. They give the metal and its weight, then the size and count of each round diamond in the design. That is what the quote is priced from.

Stage 02

The mount

The approved file is cast in the metal you picked. At this point the piece is bare. The seats are cut, the prongs stand up and the surface is still rough from the mould.

A jeweller checks the mount against the drawing and against your stone before any gem goes in. Mistakes are cheap to fix here and expensive to fix later.

Stage 03

The finished piece

The setter places the centre stone first, then the small diamonds one at a time. The piece is polished, the white gold is plated and the stones are cleaned.

We photograph the finished piece and send it to you before it ships. You see exactly what is in the box.

Metals

14k and 18k,
in three colours.

Tell us which you want and we quote both if you are undecided. The metal changes the price, the weight and the colour against your stone.

18k gold

75 percent gold. Deeper colour and more weight in the hand. The usual choice for a centre stone you plan to keep for life.

14k gold

58.5 percent gold. Harder than 18k and easier on the budget, which suits a ring worn every day.

White, yellow or rose

All three colours in both karats. White gold is plated with rhodium for its bright finish, and that plating needs redoing every few years.
